Genetic Comparison Trials
These trials are designed to demonstrate the genetic variation inherent between and within bloodlines in the wool Industry. For a wool growing business to be profitable and sustainable it needs to have a clear understanding of where their commercial flock is positioned in genetic terms in relation to the Industry benchmark.
It is hoped these wether trials will enable wool growers to critically assess where they are heading in terms of breeding objectives and genetic gains.
These trial’s typically run for three years and objectives include evaluation of economic performance measuring traits including FD, GFW, yield, bodyweight, condition / fat score and carcass yield over this three year period.
