Monaro Summer Worm Risk Outlook 2024/2025

The average WEC through spring this year was 289epg. This is down from the previous year of 653epg and the long term average of 382epg. Below average rainfall throughout winter and spring has likely been the main cause of the lower counts. A wet summer is predicted, as/if the rain comes stock will be chasing the short green pick. This grass will likely have a higher concentration of worms on it, and it will have a high water content. This means low energy feed laced with worms, be proactive with your WEC’s.
