BUILDING CAPACITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT FOR THE MONARO GRAZING INDUSTRY
Monaro Farming Systems is a progressive, farmer-led producer group representing farm businesses across the Monaro region of southern NSW
We aim to:
- Provide members with proven, relevant and targeted information which improves knowledge and profitability
- Provide a forum to focus on and manage research, development and extension on the Monaro
- Provide opportunities for members to interact and exchange ideas
- Be member owned and driven
- Continue to develop partnerships by seeking the involvement of individuals and organisations in the pursuit of our objectives
- Improve the level of capability / capacity of the whole Monaro grazing community to lift performance and improvement.
OUR PROJECTS ARE DRIVEN BY LOCAL PRODUCERS PRIORITIES, BRINGING RESEARCH, TRIALS AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE TO FARMS ACROSS THE MONARO.

Members Farming in Focus Photo Competition: DOGGED
MFS is excited to announce our Members Farming in Focus Photography Competition is back for another year. The 2026 MFS Photography competition celebrates dogs – their grit, loyalty and the role they play in all aspects of life on Monaro farms.

Time: 9:30 am–3:00 pm
Location: Alpine Hotel, 170 Sharp Street, Cooma
Cost: Free, with morning tea and lunch provided
Farming Stronger Workshop
Join Cynthia Mahoney for Farming Stronger—a practical workshop designed to help farmers and farm teams manage pressure and work smarter. The NSW Farm Business Resilience Program is jointly funded by the NSW Government and the Australian Government’s Future Drought Fund.
Peter Westblade Scholarship Training Weekend
MFS is pleased to support the Peter Westblade Scholarship Training Weekend being held at Jimenbuen from 20–22 November 2026. Organised by the Peter Westblade Scholarship, the weekend is open to young people aged 18–30.
Applications are now open through the Peter Westblade Scholarship website.
