Monaro Farming Systems is a progressive, farmer-led producer group representing farm businesses across the Monaro region of southern NSW
We aim to:
- provide members with proven, relevant and targeted information which improves knowledge and profitability
- provide a forum to focus on and manage research, development and extension on the Monaro
- provide opportunities for members to interact and exchange ideas
- be member owned and driven
- continue to develop partnerships by seeking the involvement of individuals and organisations in the pursuit of our objectives
- Improve the level of capability / capacity of the whole Monaro grazing community to lift performance and improvement.
OUR PROJECTS ARE DRIVEN BY LOCAL PRODUCERS PRIORITIES, BRINGING RESEARCH, TRIALS AND PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE TO FARMS ACROSS THE MONARO.

African Lovegrass Field Day
African lovegrass is one of the Monaro’s most significant farming challenges. Led by local producers and supported by Monaro Farming Systems, this practical field day will explore management options, current legislation, fire risk and emerging technologies. Open to everyone.

Spring Field Day
Join Monaro Farming Systems for our Spring Field Day, proudly supported by Rabobank, on Wednesday 2 September. Hear the latest livestock market outlook from Rabobank’s Angus Gidley-Baird, see practical demonstrations on bull fertility and herd health with Shane Thompson from Holbrook Veterinary Centre, and get an update from host farmers on our Climate Smart Flock Management project. A practical day focused on improving productivity, profitability and decision-making for local livestock producers.
