Carbon Farming Outreach Program

Monaro Farming Systems is delivering the Carbon Farming Outreach Program (CFOP) to support Monaro producers to better understand carbon, emissions and low-emissions practices in a practical, regionally relevant context.

Through CFOP, MFS has delivered a series of well-attended carbon workshops across the Monaro and surrounding districts, including Cooma, Bombala, Delegate, Bega and Coolringdon. These events have brought together producers from a range of enterprises and generated strong discussion around soil carbon, farm-level emissions, management impacts and the evolving policy and market landscape.

Workshops have combined indoor presentations with hands-on, paddock-based learning, including soil pits and field observations, to explore how soil carbon, healthy soils and management decisions interact across different Monaro soil types and production systems.

CFOP sessions are facilitated by Andrew Rolfe and Jono Forrest and focus on providing independent, evidence-based information, supporting producers to understand what carbon and emissions mean for their businesses and to make informed decisions aligned with their own productivity and management goals.

The Carbon Farming Outreach Program is delivered by Monaro Farming Systems in partnership with the Grower Group Alliance and is supported by funding from the Australian Government through the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
