The MFS Soils Club was initiated in 2010 and now involves 141 farm businesses with 4,400 results representing the three main soil types on the Monaro

MFS initiated the Worms Club in 2016 in response to increasing worm burdens affecting weaner survival, wool production and sheep welfare across the Monaro.

MFS hosts up to four field days each year, typically aligned with the changing season.These events are predominantly hosted on-farm and feature a variety of presentations,

Australian sheep producers are on the frontline of climate challenges – from managing pasture through droughts to maintaining flock productivity under variable conditions. 

MFS is delivering the Carbon Farming Outreach Program (CFOP) to support producers to better understand carbon, emissions and low-emissions practices in a practically, relevant context.

Monaro Farming Systems partners with the Peter Westblade Scholarship to deliver the Sheep and Wool Training Weekend – Monaro, an immersive, hands-on program.

The Cecil Brown Scholarship is a professional development opportunity supporting young people from the Monaro who are passionate about the sheep and wool industry and show strong potential to contribute to its future.

MFS holds a Monaro Farming in Focus photography competition to showcase everyday farming life on the Monaro. The competition is supported by Boyce Chartered Accountants and receives a strong response from members.

Transitioning Pasture Systems to Balanced Soil Fertility is a five-year project funded by Meat & Livestock Australia, led by CSIRO, with MFS as a delivery partner.
